Larry Amos Huffman
Larry Amos Huffman, 81, of Grottoes, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Sunnyside Retirement Community.
Larry was born in Page County, VA on September 14, 1942, a son of the late Cecil Huffman and Rena Craddock. He was united in marriage to the late Deborah "Debbie" Huffman on June 17, 1967, they shared 54 years together and are now reunited.
Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961 and returned home and worked at Reynolds Metal Company for 35 years until he retired. After retirement you would find him on the golf course. If he wasn't there, he would be out visiting with family and friends. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Port Republic, VA.
Larry is survived by three daughters, Libby Tobin and husband David of Port Republic, Amy Workman and husband Nicky of Penn Laird, Tara Morris and husband Joe, of Port Republic; five grandchildren, Breanna Tobin Morris and husband Nathan, Jared Morris and wife Allison, Kayla Morris, Eva Tobin, Nichole Workman; three great-grandsons, River Aiden Morris, Kye Amos Morris, and Dawson Kegley Morris; sisters, Pat Morris and companion Vernon, of Grottoes; Connie Oakley and husband Carey, of Sandston; Juana Brooks and husband Raymond, of Mineral; sister-in-law, Linda Kegley and husband Steve, of Grottoes; sister-in-law Susan Morris of Elkton; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Leona Edwards and husband Ricky and brother-in-law, Wayne Morris.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes with Rev. Guy Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
The family will be gathered at the home of Joe & Tara Morris in Port Republic for visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grottoes Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 67, Grottoes, VA 24441.
