Julian David “J.D." Perry passed away peacefully in Bedford County on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 1:33 p.m. from Alzheimer’s. Born on February 10, 1939 to Sarah and Charles Perry , J.D. experienced 86 years of life.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his only child and son, Adrian David Perry; eldest granddaughter, Aniaka Mae Payne(Gabriel); their children and his great grand children: Abel Mason Hollifield, Julian Cub, River Wade, Colter Lynn and Ivymae Faith “Ladybug” Payne; as well as his youngest grandchild, Sarah “Ducky” Perry.
Julian was a devoted father who loved his son unconditionally. He worked at DuPont for 36 years alongside friends before retiring by a lake and becoming a fully involved grandfather as his son honorably served in the US Navy. Julian was a veteran of the US Army as a 498th Engineer, he has always had the heart of a creator. From clockwork, cars, and anything around the house to building playhouses and fixing any broken toy. He was beyond remarkable to his family. A patient, kind, reliable man who will be deeply missed until his family reunites with him at heavens gates. His eldest grandchild will be running! He holds a special place in the hearts of many, even those whom he just may be learning their names. May he rest easy and happily knowing how truly special and important he truly is, and always will be for simply being him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ecclesiastes 3
1To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
