Judith Anne Bryant Carter, 76, gained her heavenly wings and joined her beloved husband on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Staunton. She was born on October 16, 1947, in Staunton to the late Kenton Dove, Jr. and Bessie Margaret Puckett Bryant. Judy retired from retail after 32 years of service. She worked at Woolworth’s and TJ Maxx and made many friends over the years while working with the public. Judy also loved her animals - furbabies and feathered friends alike. She and Dale had numerous pets over the years, her most recent "favorites" were Bella, her cat, her two cockatiels, and one conure. She is survived by her loving daughter, Treva Mae Carter Marshall and her husband, Rusty; her two grandchildren, Brandon Edward Mauzy and Devin Ray Mauzy and his finance, McKenzi Dean; a brother, Phillip Darrel Bryant and his wife, Barbara; an aunt, Shirley Sprouse; a brother-in-law, Edward “Eddie” Carter and his wife, Nancy; her nieces, Lauren and Makaya Bryant and Shawna Armstrong and her husband, David; her nephews, Phillip, Jr., Kenton and Landon Bryant, and Jason Carter and his wife, April; and her great nieces and nephews, Cheyenne, Dillin and Brayden Armstrong, Jacob and Rachael Carter.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dallin Ray Carter and a brother, Stephen Wayne Bryant. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Russell Marshall and George Etling officiating.A graveside service will immediately follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenton Bryant, Jason Carter, Dillin Armstrong, Brayden Armstrong, Steve Ingram and Junior Hodge. A special thank you to our church family at Fifth Street United Brethren Church in Staunton for all of the love and support during this difficult time.
