Joshua Cole Diehl

Joshua Cole Diehl, 30, of Grottoes, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Augusta Health.

He was born on January 1, 1995, and was a son of Mark Diehl and Donna (Shifflett) Diehl.

Joshua was a graduate of Fort Defiance High School. Joshua had worked at Augusta Health, was an associate member of the Grottoes Volunteer Fire Department, and was the heart and soul of Dirt Road Ceramics. Joshua touched more lives in his short life than most people do in double the time. He was a true gift from God for so many.

In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by a brother, Mark E. (Whitney) Diehl; pet dog, Roxie; paternal grandmother, Mary Shifflett; niece and nephews, Ayden Duling, Tinley Diehl, Weston Diehl; cousins, Joseph (Erika) Hamby, Beau Hamby, Mary Emma Stephenson, Cory (Wendy) Diehl, Christian Diehl, Bryce Diehl, Gavin Diehl, Eva Diehl, Lindsey Diehl, Kaitlyn Diehl, and Eli Diehl; multiple great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Elwood Shifflett; paternal grandparents, Sara and Eddie Diehl.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

A service celebrating Joshua's life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 18th at the funeral home, with Dr. Fred Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
