Joseph "Murph" Martin Layman

Joseph Martin "Murph" Layman, 75, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

He was born on August 12, 1950 and was a son of Nelson, Sr. and Doris (Coleman) Layman.

Murph had owned and operated Murph's Mufflers prior to his retirement. He served his country in the US Army as a helicopter pilot.

He was united in marriage to Christine (Hughes) Layman.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Angela (Bill) Testerman, and Matthew (Jennifer) Layman; brothers, Nelson "Phil" Layman, Jr. and Dwight (Brenda) Layman; his grandchildren, Alisa, Mikel, Brooklyn , Caleigh, and William; and great grandchildren, Ember, Norah, Sylvette, and Viktor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Flight or Tunnels to Towers.
