John Vincent George

John Vincent George, 45, of Verona, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Staunton Post Acute Rehab Center.
Mr. George was born in Woodstock, Virginia on July 23, 1980, a son of Treva Ann (Riffey) Shillingburg and the late Keith Leonard George.
John was employed at the Ball Corporation in the packaging department. Outside of his career, John found great joy in working the land and spending time outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for farming and took pride in hands-on work, whether in construction projects or tending to daily tasks. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him both peace and fulfillment.
Surviving, in addition to his mother of Verona, is his step-father, Teddy L. Shillingburg, Jr. of Verona; a brother, Chester L. “C.L.” George and his wife, Lupita of Edinburg; his paternal grandmother, Janet George of Edinburg; four uncles, Buster Riffey and Bruce Riffey of Woodstock, Kurt George of Edinburg, and Kevin George of Front Royal; three nieces, Katherine, Lainey, and Aaliyah; and his pet cat, “Wee Wee”.
There will be a private family gathering at a later date. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
