Jimmy Junior Sheffer

Jimmy Junior Sheffer, 85, of Mount Solon, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at his home.

He was born on March 3, 1939 and was a son of Jessie J. and Vada (Moats) Sheffer.

Jimmy retired from Walker Manufacturing in 1998. He served his country in the US Army. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, and fishing. He played for Briery Branch in the county league.

Jimmy was united in marriage on July 6, 1963 to Carolyn Sue Rhodes Sheffer.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Carroll (Linda) Andrews, and Jimmy (Angela) Sheffer, Jr.; a brother, Buddy (Kim) Sheffer; three grandchildren, Nichole (Stephen) Van Pelt, Jonathan (Lisa) Andrews, and Dillon (Paige) Sheffer; four great grandchildren, Addison Van Pelt, Noah Van Pelt, Tinsley Andrews, and Alexander Van Pelt and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Jimmy's life will be held on April 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with Pastors Billy Curry and John Staubus officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Solon Fire & Rescue, 86 Emmanuel Church Rd., Mt. Solon, VA 22843.
