Jerlene Faye (Hostetter) Showalter
Jerlene Faye (Hostetter) Showalter, 79, of Mt. Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Showalter was born in Goshen, Virginia on February 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Clarence E. Hostetter and Viola May (Balser) Hostettter.
Jerlene graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and later worked as a secretary for several businesses throughout Augusta County, including Smith’s Transfer Trucking Company. Known for her vibrant personality and wonderful sense of humor, she brought joy to those around her. A devoted dog lover, she leaves behind her beloved companion, “Precious.” She enjoyed spending her time bowling, reading, camping, and antiquing.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Showalter was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Travis William “Ted” Showalter; her step-father, Orie F. Hall; a brother, Everette Leon Hostetter; and a sister, Joyce (Hostetter) Jolly.
Surviving, is a daughter, Amy (Showalter) Morris and her husband, Scott; a son, Michael Travis Showalter; a sister, Joan Clinedinest and her husband, James; and five grandchildren, Korey Showalter, Brielle Showalter, Dakota Scott Morris, Colby Layne Morris, and Caden William Morris.
There will be no formal services.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
