Jeffrey Allen Moats

Jeffrey Allen Moats, 64, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

He was born on January 31, 1961, and was a son of the late Frank and Bessie (Simmons) Moats.

Jeff was the owner of Blue Ridge Transmission, and had worked on transmissions for over 50 years. He loved to hunt, go to car shows and work on his street rods. Jeff had a green thumb when it came to his tomato plants. Jeff was a people person with a great sense of humor that never met a stranger.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Puffenbarger; nieces, Pam Cline & husband Rod and Jennifer Puffenbarger & partner Tinker; nephews, Randy Moats & wife Tracy and Greg Moats & partner Tony.

In addition to his parents, Jeffrey is preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Moats.

A service celebrating Jeffrey's life will be held on December 9, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater with Rev. Glenn Welsh officiating.
