Jeannette Ann (Arbogast) Hartsook
Jeannette Ann (Arbogast) Hartsook, 70, wife of James F. Hartsook, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Hartsook was born in Durbin, West Virginia on June 25, 1954, a daughter of the late Harvey Arbogast and Vivian “Peggy” (Simmons) Arbogast.
Jeannette worked part-time for the City of Staunton as an Environmental Specialist. Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into their lives. A lover of music, she especially cherished the Statler Brothers, country, and old rock and roll. Jeannette found joy in gardening and enjoyed the beauty of life around her. Her love for life was especially evident in her infectious laugh and her ability to make everyone around her feel like family. She was always there for others, a true people person who never let a stranger leave without feeling like a friend. Her kindness and warmth will be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hartsook was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Smith; three brothers, Donald “Bimbo” Arbogast, David Arbogast, and Roger Arbogast; and a sister, Ruth Shifflett.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 38 years, are four children, Jamie Hartsook and his wife, Krystal, Stevie Hottinger, Shauna Harvey, and Trent Hartsook and his wife, Destiny; two brothers, Kenny Arbogast and his wife, Barbi and Jerry Arbogast; two sisters, Peggy Dunlap and Vickie Lockhart and her husband, Kenny; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Sedr and her husband, Billy, Makayla Piller and her husband, Zach, Malaina Harvey and her fiancé, Kaleb, Logan Hartsook, Madison Harvey, Hunter Harvey, Dylan Hottinger, Christina Hottinger, Emma Hottinger, Jeremiah Hottinger, Grant Hartsook, and Carter Hartsook; six great-grandchildren, Adelyn Sedr, Gracen Belle Sedr, Hollis Sedr, Lakyn Piller, Kylie Piller, and Oakley Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg by Pastor Shawna Hiner.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
