James Kibler

James Edward Kibler, 84, of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Kibler was born in Woodstock, Virginia on September 8, 1939, a son of the late Edna E. Kibler.  Mr. Kibler attended Toms Brook School and On January 2, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary “Louise” Mumaw.   Mr. Kibler worked as a bricklayer before retiring at age 70.  His craftsmanship is showcased throughout the Shenandoah Valley.  He always said that his greatest accomplishment was the family that he and Louise built.  He was a member of Building Faith Church at Mt. Hebron.  

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise Kibler of Strasburg; sons Gary Kibler and wife Barbie of Toms Brook; Larry Kibler and wife Tammy of Strasburg; daughters, Donna Pangle and husband, Scott of Strasburg; and Cathy Kibler (Ken Showalter) of Maurertown.  Grandchildren, Brian Kibler (Sheila), Clyde Pangle, Emily Barnes (Jay), Jason Pangle (Jessica), Morgan Kibler (Amanda), Ethan Kibler (Annie), Brady Kibler (Susan), Kara Bowman, Jana Bowman, and Aiden Hinman; Great-grandchildren, Jayden, Noah, Lee Louise, Jack, Hank, Raylan, Jazzalyn, and Austin Belle.  

A celebration of life service for Mr. Kibler will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Stover Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Funkhouser officiating. Mr. Kibler will be laid to rest privately. 

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
