Imogene (Tumer) Michael

March 14, 1928 - January 18, 2024

Imogene Michael, 95, of Mount Solon, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Willow Estates Assisted Living.

She was born on March 14, 1928, and was a daughter of the late Samuel Edgar and Agnes (Miller) Tumer.

Imogene was a member of Moscow Brethren Church. She had numerous jobs, and the Mount Solon Community may remember her from hauling water, hauling cattle, milking cows, gathering eggs, butchering, canning, gardening, baking, crafts, quilting, Sangerville Towers Ruritans, and from working at the Buckhorn Inn. Whenever someone needed something in the Mount Solon area, she was there to help.

Imogene was united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1947 to Thomas W. Michael, who preceded her in death in 1977.

She is survived by two children, Donald Michael (Frances), and Nancy Michael, both of Mount Solon; four grandchildren, Bryson Michael, Jason Michael (Betsie), Travis Byerly (Susan), Trent Byerly; six great-grandchildren, Ella Jane, Caroline, Corbin, Matthew, Ryan, and Brooke; sister, Gaynelle Wenzell; brother, Frank Tumer; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Byerly and husband, Tom; son-in-law, Julian Thompson; sister, Joyce Wheeler.

A service celebrating Imogene's life will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Moscow Covenant Brethren Church, with Pastor Darren Howdyshell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services.
