Hugh Richard Robinson

Hugh Richard Robinson, 91, of Dayton, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Bridgewater Retirement Community.

Hugh was born in St. Mary, Jamaica on September 17, 1932 and was a son of the late Eric and Beatrice (Gordon) Robinson.

He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Petties-Robinson for 32 years, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Hugh is survived by his siblings, Cynthia Scott, Bryant Robinson and wife Valerie, Joscelyn Robinson and wife Rachel, Clover Robinson Tyson, and Jonah Robinson; close friend Alpa Small, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Hugh is preceded in death by sister, Clarice Robinson Womble.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Dayton United Methodist Church at 215 Ashby St., Dayton, VA 22821. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jenny Day officiating. Burial will follow the service at Dayton Mennonite Church Cemetery, 4887 John Wayland Hwy., Dayton, VA 22821.
