Howard Milton Lewis

Howard Milton Lewis, 100, of Grottoes, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at his home.

Howard was born in McVeytown, PA, on September 28, 1923, a son of the late Cora (Allison) and Ira Lewis.

On Oct. 31, 1943, he was united in marriage to Mary Esther (Smith) Lewis, who preceded him in death.

Howard was a farmer and Pastors Assistant for the Church of God. Howard also worked for Food Lion in his later years. He was a member of Grottoes Church of God and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

Howard is survived by two daughters, Judy Russell and husband, Douglas, of Penn Laird, and Karen Connelly and husband, Richard, of Warriors Mark, PA; son, Wilber Lewis of Hollidaysburg, PA; a sister, Mary Johnson of PA; brother, Paul Lewis of PA; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harold Lewis and wife Darlene.

Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Wed. June 26, 2024, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, June 27th, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes, with Pastor Glenn Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
