Harry Ellis

July 30, 1940 - July 1, 2024

Harry William “Bill” Ellis, 83, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2024 at his home. He was born in Urbana, Illinois, July 30, 1940, son of the late William James Ellis and Nora Ethel Moore Ellis.

“Bill” was a proud, retired 20 year U. S. Navy Veteran and the former owner of Town Appliance & TV in Stuarts Draft. His hobbies included wood working, a love of trains and visits with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. “Sugar” Cochran Ellis; his daughter, Dee E. Leach and his sister, Shirley Harris.

Survivors include his, daughter, Belinda Lee Wallace and her husband, Steve of Stuarts Draft; his son, Michael D. Ellis and his wife, Traci of Stuarts Draft; his grandchildren, Chad S. Wallace and wife, Brandi, Shawn M. Wallace and Ashley Houser, William Tyler Wallace and wife, Amanda, Jessica Lynn Bourdeaux, William Dylan Leach and wife, Angelique, Lauren E. Haymon and husband, Brett and Trenton Ellis and Morgan Howley; his great-grandchildren, Colin Graham, Kayleigh Nicole Wallace, Cole Steven Wallace, Olive Penelope Anne Wallace, William Aiden Wallace, Leylynd Matthew Bordeaux, Liam Robert Leach, Everley Yvonne Leach and Tatum Brooke Haymon; his sister, Sharon Bushue of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Levi Brown. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Shawn Wallace, Tyler Wallace, Dylan Leach, Trenton Ellis, Brett Haymon and Darryl Benson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Following interment the family will receive friends at Belinda and Steve’s home, 266 Arrowhead Lane, Stuarts Draft.
