Hadzira Balić
Hadzira Balić, 69, of Bridgewater passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at her home.
She was born March 29, 1956, and was the daughter of the late Dervo Marić and Zejna Marić.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mujo Marić.
Hadzira worked at Perdue Farms in Bridgewater, and will be remembered by her loved ones as a caring and devoted mother, having brought her family to the United States almost 30 years ago from her native Bosnia-Herzegovina. Hadzira's life's work was focused on ensuring a safe, peaceful life for her children and providing her family a chance at the American Dream.
She is survived by James Miller, her husband, whom she married in 1977, as well as her two children, Vedran Balić, and Jasmina Vickers; a son-in-law, Derek Vickers, as well as her 4 grandchildren, Ava Wilfong, Lillie Vickers, Duke Vickers, and Lake Vickers. Hadzira is also survived by four siblings: her sister Ramiza Marić, who lives in Amman, Jordan; her sister Ćamila Škegro, of Mostar, Bosnia, as well as her brothers Džemal Marić, and Ramiz Marić, both of whom also reside in Mostar, Bosnia.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Smith Family for their loyal and devoted friendship of almost 30 years, and to the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Oak Lawn Cemetery, with Pastor David Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is grateful for donations made towards the funeral expenses.
