Gratton "G.P." Payne Fisher
Gratton Payne “G.P.” Fisher, III, 66, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Raphine.
Mr. Fisher was born on December 16, 1958, a son of the late Gratton Payne Fishers, Jr. and Margaret Houston (Groah) Swats.
G.P. was a local business owner for over 40 years and a member of the Jollivue-Barterbook Ruritan Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag racing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard H. Moran “Lenny”; and his step-mother, Edith Fisher “Edie”.
Surviving, are his daughter and son-in-law, Brittany Fisher and Harlan Roach of Greenville; and a grandson, Payton Snell “Pud”.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Mint Spring Ruritan Building (1912 Lee Jackson Highway, Staunton, VA 24401) and other times at his daughter’s residence.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025 in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor Rader Ogden.
Active pallbearers will be Harlan Roach, Payton Snell, Frankie Pennington, Stewart Powell, Dale Phillips, and Michael Phillips.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bernie Weaver.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to Blue Ridge Christian Home nursing staff, especially Pamela Campbell, for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Fisher.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
