Gordon Franklin Sprouse

September 16, 1940 - November 1, 2024

Gordon Franklin Sprouse, 84, husband of Donna Jean (Robertson) Sprouse of Little Calf Pasture Highway in Craigsville, Virginia passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
     Mr. Sprouse was born in Craigsville, Virginia on September 16, 1940, the son of the late Gordon and Beatrice Elizabeth (Jackson) Sprouse.
     Mr. Sprouse was a member of Peoples Baptist Church and was retired from the Town of Craigsville where he was employed as a Superintendent of the water-sewer treatment plant.  Gordon enjoyed driving a dump truck for his son at Sprouse’s Hauling and Excavating, he loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and farming.
     Mr. Sprouse was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
     Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-three years, is a daughter, Sylvia J. Jolly and her husband Frank, Jr. of Craigsville; a son, Frankie Sprouse, II and his wife Amanda of Churchville; three grandchildren, Steven Downey and wife Sarah, Franklin Sprouse, III and Bryce Collin; one step grandson, Zack Marrs; and one great grandson, Tyler Downey.
     A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in the Peoples Baptist Church by Pastor Robert Hale.
     Burial will follow in Craigsville Community Memorial Cemetery.
     Active pallbearers will be Steven Downey, Frank Jolly, Richard Allen Fox, Ron Sprouse, Richard Byram, Tommy Hostetter and Larry Wilcher. 
     The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
     Mr. Sprouse’s family would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah & Caregivers, Terry Shiflett, Ashley Lam, Madison Burke and Ellen Strickler for the wonderful care given to him during his illness.

     Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
