Goldie E. Morris

DEERFIELD – Goldie Ellen (Morris) Morris, 85, of Deerfield, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Born October 13, 1937 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of Laura Mae (Collier) Morris. Goldie was a member of Deerfield Church of God. Prior to retirement she worked at Staunton Manor Nursing Home as a nurses’ aide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morton Winfrey Morris, and a son, Anthony “Andy” Morris.

Surviving are a daughter, Laddie Yeago of Carlisle, Pa.; a “son,” Allen Byerly; two grandchildren, Kenny Durham and Megan Moyers and husband Josh; and one great-grandson, Corbin Durham.

A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14 in Deerfield Community Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Merle Dodson.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
