Glenwood Cain

Glenwood “Sonny” Cain Jr., born April 9, 1949, passed away on February 17, 2024 at the age of 74. 
After the military he spent his life as a skilled laborer. 
Mr. Cain was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Kay Francis (Strickler) Cain; his parents, Glenwood Cain Sr. and May Ellen Cain; a sister, Glenna Helmick; and a brother, Roger Cain.
He leaves behind the following family members on his side of the family; two daughters, Angela York (Jeff) of NC and Teresa Leavell of Waynesboro, VA; two sons, Glenwood Cain III (Jessica) of Sarasota, FL and Darrell Cain of Alexandria, VA; two grandsons: Christopher Harlow (Erica) of KY and Colin Harlow of GA; and a great-grandchild. RaeLynn Harlow of Grottoes, VA. From his wife's side of the family he leaves behind a daughter, Lori Kathryn Aleshire (Doug); a son, Thomas Jay Rankin; grandchildren, Dylan Grayson Furry, Justin Scott Rankin, Tristan Jay Rankin, Christopher Aleshire, and Joseph Aleshire; and a great-grandchild, Elah Andrien Kay Rankin. Surviving siblings are sisters, Nancy Lam (Carl) of Grottoes, VA, Sally Robertson of Staunton, VA, and Myrlin Cain of Grottoes, VA; and a brother, Donnie Cain (Angie) of Brandywine, WV. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
