Glenn Koogler

November 13, 1936 - March 16, 2026

Glenn Marwood Koogler, 89, of Raphine, Virginia, passed away at his home on Monday, March 16, 2026. He was born in Raphine, the son of the late William Mangus Koogler and the late Leslie Ann Lamb Koogler.

Glenn was a graduate of Spottswood High School and was a self-employed builder with Koogler Constructions Co. A Navy veteran, he served from 1954-1957 as a Machinist Mate aboard the aircraft carrier Valley Forge. He was a member of the Old Dominion Packard Club and MAFCA – The Model A Ford Club of America. Glenn loved antique cars and restored many and he loved all antiques, especially toys, clocks, signs and gas pumps.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Vincent, Lyle, Melvin, John and Elmer Koogler and his sisters, sisters, Evelyn Harris, LaRue Baber and Emily Swab.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte H. Koogler, they were married October 4, 1999; his daughter, Glenna Koogler; his son, Ronnie Koogler and wife, Mary of Hilton Head, South Carolina; his two brothers, David Koogler and wife, Margie of Texas and Tommy Koogler and wife, Gaytha of Staunton;his former wife, Dorothy Koogler of Staunton; his granddaughter, Tiffany Sutton of Verona, grandson, Derek Taylor and wife, Pauline of Buena Vista and granddaughter, Lara Smith and husband, Chas of Charlottesville; his two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Robin Smith of Charlottesville and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2026 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476, conducted by the Reverend Sarah L. Hill. Interment will follow, with Military Honors, in the church cemetery.
