Gernie Conner

Gernie Bruce Conner, 92, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Saturday evening, April 27, 2024 at her home. She was born October 11, 1931 in Harriston, Virginia, daughter of the late Nattie Bee Bruce and Sadie Pearl Shifflett Bruce.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Franklin Conner, Sr., her daughter, Cathy Conner and seven siblings.

Gernie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Burton and husband, Rick; her two sons, Clyde F. Conner Jr. and wife, Gina and John Conner and wife, Lynne; her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Otho Bruce.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor Billy Coffey. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service.

Serving as Active Pallbearers will be James Rodgers, Seth Fox, Jordon Houser, Dustin Pearson and Rick Burton. The grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
