Gary Wayne Harold

Gary Wayne Harold, 67, of Verona, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

He was born on November 16, 1956, and was a son of the late Watson Harold, and Audrey (Rodgers) Harold of Harrisonburg.

Gary retired from Shenandoah's Pride, and was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, Nascar, and his pet cat, Sammy.

Gary was united in marriage on Sept. 8, 1999, to Sam (McCray) Harold, who survives.

Gary is also survived brothers, Gene Harold and wife, Gloria, of Harrisonburg, Gerald Harold of Harrisonburg, and Larry Harold of Weyers Cave; brother-in-law, Michael McCray of Crimora, sister-in-law, Teresa (Larry) Rose of Staunton; special aunt, Nancy Simmons of Verona; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Judy Harold and Barbara Harold; mother and father in law, Lacy and Sarah McCray; niece, Lori Miller; nephew, Brian Harold.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes. Please, no visitors at the home at this time.

A service celebrating Gary's life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 22nd at Verona United Methodist Church, with David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Shenandoah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Shenandoah, Augusta Home Health, Rockingham Family Physicians, Balint Pain Management Center, Verona Fire Department, and the Staunton Rescue Squad for all the care provided to Gary.
