G. Raymond Curry, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.He was born on January 21, 1945, in Staunton to the late Leon Randolph and Helen Mae Back Curry.Raymond, a local Staunton native purchased Kitch’n Cook’d Potato Chip Company in 1980. Through hard work and his vision, he cultivated Kitch'n Cook’d Potato Chip Company into a beloved brand known for its superior taste. He also started Currys’ Auto Sales, LLC in 2001.Beyond his professional achievements, Raymond was a devout Christian and a devoted member of the Spring Hill Presbyterian ECO Church. He was also a member of the Beverley Manor Ruritan Club. Raymond will most be remembered for how much he loved his family.He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Jean Whitesell Curry; his daughter, Stacey Rae Curry Mooneyham and her husband, Randall “Butch”; his grandchildren, Jordan Alexis and Carter Wade; his sister, Shirley Mae Cobb; a special sister-in-law, Carolyn Curry; his special nephews, Leon R. Curry, III and Christopher Curry; and his special friends, Frank and Rose Tolley, George and Neila Luzaich, and Ron and Carolyn Huntley.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Leon R. Curry, Jr.; his sisters, Judy Ann Curry Collins and Rosalie Josephine Curry McLear; and special friend, John Crawford.A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Spring Hill Presbyterian ECO Church in the community of Spring Hill with Dr. Todd Lilly officiating.Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Tolley, Kevin Tolley, Brian Tolley, AC Powers, Neil Townsend and Ron Huntley.Interment will be at Augusta Memorial Park and will be private.Memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Hill Presbyterian Church (4141 Spring Hill Road, Staunton, VA 24401) or Highlanders for Hope, “Shelburne Middle School Backpack Program” (300 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401).
