Fred Lee Lovegrove

February 3, 1933 - September 8, 2024

Fred Lee Lovegrove, 91, widower of Ramona Gay (Burgadine) Lovegrove, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Aviva at Baldwin Park in Staunton.
Mr. Lovegrove was born in Middlebrook, Virginia on February 3, 1933, a son of the late Oscar L. and Irene (Hanger) Lovegrove.
Fred served in the United States Army and was retired from VDOT as a District Right of Way Manager. At Memorial Baptist Church, he was a very active member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, taught Sunday School, and contributed to the church in various roles, including serving on the Premises Committee and as a past deacon. Additionally, Mr. Lovegrove was a supporter of Weekday Religious Education.
In addition to his parents and wife of sixty-four years, Mr. Lovegrove was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Lovegrove; and a sister, Shirley (Lovegrove) Jesse.
Surviving, is a daughter, Michelle (Lovegrove) McBryde and her husband, Lee of Mt. Airy, Maryland; two grandchildren, Evan McBryde and his wife, Breana, and Ethan McBryde and his wife, Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Graham, Weston, and Bodie McBryde; a brother, Clay “Pete” Lovegrove and his wife, Shirley of Churchville; a sister-in-law, Susan Dula of Deerfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Pastor Todd Latham.
The family will receive friends following the service.
