Franklyn Leon Decker

June 20, 1931 - May 15, 2024

Franklyn Leon Decker, 92, widower of Joyce (Gilbert) Decker, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his residence. 
Mr. Decker was born in Middlebrook, Virginia on June 20, 1931, a son of the late Frank Heller Decker and Mary (Grimm) Decker. 
Franklyn was a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church and was a self-employed contractor with Frank Decker & Sons. He never met a stranger, he attended mission trips with various organizations, and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Decker enjoyed hunting and camping.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Decker was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jack Decker. 
Surviving, are three daughters, Denise Wells of Hampton, Millie Cook and  her husband, Robert, and Stephanie Ramsey and her husband, Keith, all of Staunton; two sons, Virgil Decker and his wife, Chris of Roanoke and Robert “R.B.” Decker and his wife, Michelle of Middlebrook; a brother, Fred Decker and his wife, Twila of Middlebrook; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Jeff Deaver and his wife, Kim. 
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at their residence. 
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Brandon Carter and Glenn Kurtz. 
Burial will follow in St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matt Cook, Richard Ramsey, Chaz Ramsey, Steven Wisecarver, Junior Rexrode and Tyler Black. 
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Kara Wisecarver, Emily Rexrode, Bethany Decker, Jussy Ramsey, Kayla Ramsey, Maranda Cook, Rachael St. Pierre, and Adam St. Pierre.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
