Francine Fay (Koscielniak) Senderak

Francine Fay (Koscielniak) Senderak, 77, wife of Keith Lloyd Senderak, of Swoope, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was born in Chicago, IL, on February 3, 1947, a daughter of the late Walter and Harriet (Wojda) Koscielniak.
Fran’s dream of becoming a nurse began when she was six years old. She began working in a hospital as a candy stripe volunteer at the age of fourteen. Fran later became a nurse’s aide and graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. She worked for several years during her nursing development at Resurrection Hospital and later became the head nurse of the kidney dialysis unit at Chicago’s West Suburban Hospital. She was a lover of animals, an avid crafter, especially enjoyed needlepoint and enjoyed camping and RVing. Fran was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was a loving and caring person to all that she knew, and her grandchildren, Sully and Tillie brought her tremendous joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Lewis and her husband Ron.
In addition to her husband of fifty-four years, she is survived by two sons, Mark Senderak and his wife, Megan of Glen Allen and Christopher Senderak of Swoope; two grandchildren, Sullivan and Matilda; a brother, Gary Koscielniak and his wife, Angela of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Ken Senderak and his wife Margaret of CO; two nephews, Steven Senderak and Jason Senderak and his wife, Beth Ann; great-nephew, Noah and great-niece, Kaya.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton, VA.
Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the  Roselawn Memory Gardens, 13389 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
