Frances (Lam) Shenk

Frances (Lam) Shenk, 85, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home.

She was born on April 21, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Earl Roger and Myrtle (Sandy) Lam.

Frances was a caregiver to many children over the years, the last one being her grandson. She was a Sunday School teacher and Nursery Director for Montezuma Church of the Brethren.

Frances was united in marriage to W. Nelson Shenk, Jr., who survives.

Frances is survived by children, Connie (Tony) Blose, Sara Atkins; grandson, Dustin (Tessa) Atkins; brothers, Marvin (Mary) Lam, Herbert (Lois) Lam, Dan (Linda) Lam, Sam Lam, Dallas (Leanna) Lam; sister-in-law, Edith Lam; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by brothers Lynwood (Betty) Lam, Ralph Lam, Glen Roger Lam; sisters, Marietta (Hal) Helphrey, Hazel (George) Altizer; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Lam.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater with Pastors David Miller and Terri Luzynski officiating. Burial will follow at St. Jacob's Spaders Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers, Christal Yowell and Natasha, and the Sentara Hospice care team.
