Frances Elizabeth (Selman) Black
Frances Elizabeth (Selman) Black, 72, widow of Lacy Courtney Black, Sr. formerly of South Waverly Street, Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Black was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on March 8, 1952, a daughter of the late Clyde Sanford Selman, Sr. and Virginia Mae (White) Selman.
Frances retired after 25 years as a CNA from Western State Hospital. She was a member of Victory Worship Center and enjoyed playing bingo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by a daughter, Lottie Sue (Black) Hull; and a grandson, Treves David Hull.
Surviving, is a son, Lacy C. Black, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Staunton; a sister, Marie (Selman) Powell of Staunton; a brother, Clyde S. Selman, Jr. and his wife, Katie of Covington; two grandchildren, Hunter Black and Ellena Sherman; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Annette Argenbright and her husband, Steve.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
