Emma Fisher
Emma Lou Truslow “Honey” Fisher, 83, of Crimora passed away at her home, 38 Wolfe Lane, with family by her side. She was born February 6, 1942 the daughter of the late Owen Lamb Truslow and Hawsie Lorraine Fitzgerald Truslow.
Emma worked many years and was retired from both Stanley Furniture and Klann Incorporated. She attended Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church.
She put everyone before herself and made sure they had a seat, had food (always trying to feed everyone) or anything else they needed. She loved crocheting, cooking, gardening, riding into town, shopping and talking on the phone. Most of her family and friends were the recipients of a quilt she made expressly for them. She always made everyone feel welcomed and she loved them as her own.
Emma wanted all to know that she gives all her love to Gentiva Hospice, the staff at Sentara RMH Medical Center, Harrisonburg and to Brandi and Lucas Jones for all the love and care that was given.
In addition to parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George Henry “Dinker” Fisher, Jr.; two sons, George Robert “Robbie” Fisher and Owen Lamb Fisher; two daughters, Cindy Lou Fisher Tidd and Charlotte Dee Fisher; granddaughter, Kristy Renee Fisher Liptrap and husband, Joe Liptrap; two daughters-in-law, Diane Fainter Fisher and Brenda Campbell; son-in-law, Timmy Lam; brothers-in-law, Richard Cleveland, Paul Jerome Fisher and Herbert “Red” Stinespring and her sister-in-law, Elfreda Truslow.
Emma is survived by her daughters, Brandi Marshall Fisher Jones, whom she raised, and husband, Lucas and Mary Ann Lam and Jeff Bennett; two sisters, Malina June Stinespring and Cheri Cleveland; brother, Daniel “Danny” Truslow; sister-in-law, Densie Truslow; grandchildren, Jason Tidd and Ramona, Jeremy and Megan, Duane Lam, Blake Lam, Jamison “Jamie” Marshall and, Melinda “Mel” Lou Hailey and Ray. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends whom she loved very much.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Matthew Ray Fisher. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro. Serving as active pallbearers will be, Keith Reynolds, Derek Rankin, Jamison Marshall, Cody Marshall, Jeremy Tidd, Jason Tidd, Lucas Jones and Jessie Fisher.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 -8:00pm. Friday, September 12th.
After interment the family and friends are gathering for a covered dish memorial dinner to honor Emma at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church, 767 Calf Mountain Rd, Waynesboro.
