Elvert "Pill" Eugene Black
Elvert Eugene ''Pill'' Black, 78, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
He was born on December 1, 1946 and was a son of the late William Frank and Marie (Swartz) Black.
Pill was a founding member of Black Brothers in 1972 (incorporated in 1977). Pill and his brothers built more than a company, they built friendships along with a community. Pill loved the outdoors, hunting in Idaho, fishing in Alaska and Canada (especially with his son-in-law) and attending bluegrass concerts with his wife. Pill was united in marriage on July 16, 1977 to Lois Jean (Gordon) Black.
Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Bessie Black & husband Curt Ward; sister, Carolyn Shirkey & husband Terry; brothers, Eddie Black & wife Nellie, Bob Black & wife Patty, Jerry Black & wife Carolyn, and Jim Wood & wife Kerry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
