Elmer Franklin Hite
Elmer Franklin Hite, 75, husband of Patsy Hite, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Hite was born in Augusta County, Virginia on December 27, 1949, a son of the late Russell Wilson Hite and Fannie Grace (Strickler) Hite Nuckoles.
Elmer was devoted to his work as a mechanic, approaching every day with dedication, hard work, and a deep love for the craft. His passion for cars was evident to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hite was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hite; and a sister, Mary (Hite) Taylor Cook.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two step-children, Michael Defibaugh and Janet McGuire and her husband, Rodney; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Hite) Bowling and Louise (Hite) Simmons Slusher; a number of nieces and nephews; and his favorite granddog, Gibby.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
