Elaine Kiser Shank

Elaine Diane Shank, 88, of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.

She was born on August 24, 1937, and was a daughter of Buffin and Ruth (Early) Kiser.

Elaine retired from Bridgewater College with over 20 years of service, and was a member of Montezuma Church of the Brethren where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and the celebration singers.

Elaine was united in marriage on March 9, 1957, to Bobby F. Shank, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2025.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Keagy & husband Melvin, and Kevin Shank & wife Grace; six grandchildren, Jill Keister, Bryan Keagy, Daniel Keagy, Adam Shank, Nathan Shank, and Bethany Myers; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Dwayne (Dawn) Kiser; sister, Janice Eckard; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Fike, and a brother, Norlyn Kiser.

A graveside service celebrating Elaine's life will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at Beaver Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Terri Luzynski officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Church of the Brethren, 4937 Otterbine Rd, Dayton, VA 22821.
