Edward J. Koska
CHURCHVILLE – Edward Joseph Koska, 74, beloved husband of Linda, passed away peacefully in his home on November 23, 2025.
Ed was born on March 28, 1951 in New Bedford, Massachusetts and was a son of the late Edward Joseph and Stella Mary (Fryzel) Koska. Ed was raised in Acushnet, Massachusetts. He earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and was a career-long pharmacist, retiring from Giant Pharmacy after over 40 years of employment. Ed was an enthusiastic fan of all New England sports teams. He was also an avid golfer. His love of sports also led him to coaching roles (basketball and golf) at Grace Christian School. One of Ed's favorite places was the beach, where he spent many family vacations. Ed had a keen interest in alternative medicine, and his extensive research greatly benefited his own health and the health of those he loved. He was a member of Community Fellowship Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Edward Koska. Surviving are his wife, Linda (Selquist) Koska, whom he married on September 25, 1976; three children, Nathan Koska (wife Sarah) of Staunton, Emily Barrett (husband Chris) of Aiken, S.C., and Alexander Koska of Staunton; sisters Barbara Costa (husband Russ) of San Clemente, Calif. and Cynthia Hubert of Acushnet, Mass.; brother Steve Koska (wife Barbara) of Greenville, N.C.; and grandchildren Andrew, Liam and Owen Barrett, and Abigail and Elena Koska.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 20th at Community Fellowship Church (116 Cedar Green Rd., Staunton), officiated by Pastor John Morrison.
