Doug Merlie

FISHERSVILLE – Robert Douglas Merlie, 54, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Doug was born on September 26, 1970 in Millville, New Jersey, and was the son of Robert John and Wilda Ann (Howell) Merlie of Waynesboro. He was an auto mechanic, and enjoyed working on cars as well as racing them. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pearl Howell Horn; his paternal grandmother, Anna Pallaver; and an aunt, Christine Harris.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a son, Justin Merlie and wife Bree; two half-sisters, Kimberly Harris and Sharon Hintz; two grandchildren, Boe Merlie and Kaitlyn Merlie; an aunt, Gladys Howell; and his longtime companion, Tracy Bodkin.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 in Mount Mary Cemetery, Millboro, officiated by Pastor Dave Ball.
