Dorothy Louise "Dot" Bennett

Dorothy Louise “Dot” Bennett, age 87, of Circleville, WV, went home to be with The Lord, on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on April 29, 1936, the daughter of the late Earl and Tena (Warner) Nelson. On June 1, 1956, Dot married Fay Howard Bennett, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2014.

Dot was a 1954 graduate of Circleville High School and a member of Circleville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and making children's crafts and toys. She had worked as a Teacher's Aide for many years at Head Start at the Dixie School in Riverton. Dot loved and lived for The Lord and enjoyed sharing this love with everyone who crossed her path.

Dot is survived by: a daughter, Teresa L. Harper of Seneca Rocks, WV; a son, Gregory Howard Bennett (Cindy) of Circleville, WV; 2 sisters, Lois Hedrick of Riverton, WV, Sue Moyers of Criders, VA; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Marie Montgomery, Joanie Carr, Betsy Harper Bland, Amy Cook; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jaimee Carr, Tyler Carr, Matthew Shahan, Makenzie Shahan, and Abigail Montgomery. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Bardon “Bink” and Delton Nelson; a sister, Shirley Dove; and 2 nephews, John Lee and Bond Dove, Jr.

Dot's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Circleville Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Fletcher Hutcheson officiating.
