Dorothy Lee (Wright) Wampler
Dorothy Lee Wright Wampler, 96, of Bridgewater passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Bridgewater Retirement Community where she resided since October 20, 2016. Dorothy was born November 29, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Leta Cline Wright.
Dorothy graduated from Weyers Cave High School and attended Bridgewater College for two years. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Brethren where she served as church clerk and financial secretary. Dorothy retired in 1992 after 32 years at Reynolds Metals in Grottoes. She then worked part-time at Harrisonburg Auto Auction (Manheim) for 23 years and retired in 2015.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Glenn Garber Wampler April 20, 1952, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1989. She is survived by two sons, Daniel L Wampler (Faye) and Kenneth L Wampler (Debbie), both of Mt. Sidney and her sister, Helen Shiflet of Bridgewater. Dorothy is survived by four grandchildren, Laura Wampler, Krista Rawley, Natalie Riggleman and Matthew Wampler and ten great-grandchildren, Tara Fitzwater Jones (Kyle), Peyton Fitzwater, Luke Rawley, Grayson Rawley, Eli Rawley, Silas Rawley, Mason Riggleman, Weston Moss, Olivia Wampler and Coraline Wampler.
Services will be private. A gathering with family and friends will be held in the social hall of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Weyers Cave from 12PM - 2PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
