Doris Ann Craun Slusser

Doris Ann Craun Slusser, 91, of Bridgewater, VA passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Bridgewater Home.

She was born on June 20, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Ernest B. and Eula Mae (Flesher) Craun.

Doris had worked as a teacher for 15 years in Augusta County, VA and 20 years in Mahwah, NJ. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.

Doris is survived by her grandson, John Charles Gentile, her son-in-law, Joseph Gentile, nephew, Kevin Craun and wife Patti, nieces, Stephanie Diehl and husband Mike, and Amy Bowman and husband Charlie, great nieces and nephews, Rachel Craun, Sarah Craun, Jared Diehl, Alexandria Bowman & husband Alex, and Charles Bowman. Those that helped Doris over the years, especially, Stephanie Diehl, Kevin Craun, Johnny & Anne Bowman, Earl & Mary Ellen Jantzi, John Hipps and Evans Driver, PLC.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Slusser, and brother, Ernest B. Craun, II & wife Judy.

A service celebrating Doris's life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lantz Chapel of Bridgewater Retirement Community with Chaplain Russ Barb officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
