Donald M. Evers

Donald Evers, 91, of Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at his home.

He was born on April 17, 1933 and was a son of the Wilbur Evers and Annette Evers.

Donald had worked as a dedicated farmer and enjoyed participating in the Sangerville Towers Arts and Crafts show. He especially enjoyed showing steam engines. He was a life long member of Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon and Elder for many years. Donald also enjoyed singing the church choir. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1956.

Donald was united in marriage on April 9, 1988 to Joyce Yancey Evers, who survives.

Donald is also survived by daughter, Annette Evers; siblings, Franklin Evers and wife Joyce, Bonnie Guyer, and husband Bob, Juanita Hopkins and husband Kenny; brother-in-law, Layton Yancey and wife Vicki; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley, Norman, and Rudolph Evers; sisters, Shelby Simmons and Phyllis Glick.

The family will receive friends between 5 - 7 PM, on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
