Donald Leckrone

October 24, 1955 - August 3, 2024

Donald G. Leckrone, 68, of Nellysford, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, August 3, 2024 at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. He was born October 24, 1955 in Camden, New Jersey son of the late Gordon Leon Leckrone and Virginia Smail Harm.

Don, a U. S. Navy veteran, served in Japan. He was retired from the Zenith Quest Corporation in Afton, Virginia where he served as their Director Client Engagements in Defense and Intelligence. Earlier in his career Don was Factory Liaison to Japan with Panasonic in Atlanta, Georgia. He was also the holder of a patent through Spectrafax Corporation.

Don accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord in August of 2022.

His interests included travel, wine collecting, enjoying his gun collection, mountain hiking and fishing in his lake.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Larry and Hope Chang, to his two helpful neighbors, Don Westfall and Jimmy and to the Kayah family for their friendship, love and care of Don.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Carney.

Survivors include his former wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Neely, they were married on October 27, 1979; his son, Matthew C. Leckrone of South Riding; his step-son, Thomas A. Kidd and wife, Lisa Kidd of Suwanee, Georgia and Don’s two grandchildren, Madelyn Kidd and Ethan Kidd. Don loved his dog, Flynn, who was truly a dear companion.
