Donald "Don" Williams

Donald “Don” Williams, 80, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Mr. Williams was born in Washington, DC on August 13, 1943, a son of the late Thurman Earl and Lucy McGee Williams.  Don retired from a long career with Metro, having started as a bus driver in Washington, DC and later becoming a Metro Rail train operator. For the last serval years Don worked in the interlocking board at West Falls Church rail yard, assembling and guiding trains in and out of the yard.  A beloved community member Don supported local causes and formed many friendships especially through his membership with the local Moose club.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Kay S. Williams in 2017. 

Survivors include his children: Jonathan Williams, Marc Williams, and Jeanette Polk, and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

A funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Bobby Funkhouser Officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery Strasburg, VA.  

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
