Dennis W. Mullenax
STAUNTON – Dennis Wayne Mullenax, 68, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Augusta Health.
Dennis was born in Staunton on August 18, 1957, and was the son of Shirley Mae (Huffer) Mullenax and the late William Aaron “Bill” Mullenax. He worked in HVAC and was a self-employed small-engine repairman. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman, especially fond of fishing and hunting. He was fearless and “rowdy,” and also enjoyed tinkering in his garage.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father; his son, Trinity Wayne Mullenax; and his brother-in-law, D. Allan Windsor. Surviving in addition to his mother of Staunton are a sister, Shelly Mae Windsor of Erwin, Tennessee; five nephews, Aaron Marotta (wife Kathleen), Ethan Marotta (wife Samantha), Evan Marotta, Issaac Marotta, and Dakota Windsor (wife Jessica); and great-nephews and great-nieces Liam, Silas, Ian, Trinity and Tristan Marotta, and Parker, Mason, Reagan and Khloe Windsor.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 7 in Bear Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Adam Watts. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron, Ethan, Evan and Issaac Marotta, Jay Marion, David Wade, and Jeffery Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Mullenax, Mark Poe, Tony Smith and Scotty Campbell.
The family will receive friends before the funeral service, beginning at 1 p.m.
