Deborah "Debbie" Lee (Miller) Fitzgerald
Deborah Lee “Debbie” (Miller) Fitzgerald, 63, wife of Richard Wayne Fitzgerald, of Waynesboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was born in Staunton, Virginia on February 18, 1961, daughter of the late Lee Carlton “Jack” Miller and Janet Lee (Landes) Miller.
Debbie was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church and was the Director of Nursing at The Legacy at North Augusta. She enjoyed spending time with her family and holiday gatherings.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas “Doug” Miller; and a sister, Cathy Miller.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 29 years, is a niece, Amber Hite; two great- nieces, Kyli Crosby (Noah) and Jensen Hite; two nephews, Jason Hite (Shannon) and Brad Robertson (Jennifer); two great-nephews, Landon Hite and Caden Hite; two great-great- nieces, Maisie Jones and Journee Rose; two brothers-in-law, Michael Fitzgerald and Gary Hite; a special friend, Pam Richardson; and her pet dogs, “Izzy” and “Lilly Sue”.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at SherLynd Baptist Church by Pastor Allen George.
Debbie loved the color purple, and her family would be deeply touched if attendees wore it in her honor.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to the doctors and nurses in the UVA Neuro ICU for the care shown to Debbie.
