Dallas Edwin Rodgers

March 26, 1940 - January 8, 2024

Dallas Edwin Rodgers, age 83, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.  He was born on March 26, 1940, in Petersburg, the son of the late Edwin N. Rodgers and Ethel V. (Pratt) Rodgers Sherman.  Dallas was preceded in death by his longtime companion Antonie Lewis in 2022.
Mr. Rodgers moved from Petersburg, WV to Arlington, VA at the age of 15 and went to Washington and Lee High School at night to receive his diploma.  He attended the International School of Design to polish his skills for his career in Interior Design where he established himself as a highly sought after artist in his field throughout the District, Maryland, and Virginia.  He enlisted the help of family with many of his projects.  His work took him up and down the East Coast as well as California.  Dallas also traveled to the Middle East and England for projects.  He was fortunate to work with several renowned Interior Designers during his career.  His clients included political officials, royalty, countless doctors, attorneys, and business owners.  Many of his clients not only considered him their contractor but also a friend and many of them thought of him as a member of their family.
Dallas is survived by: 2 sons, Kevin Dallas Rodgers of Petersburg, WV; Brian Robert Rodgers (Vicky) of Herndon, VA; 2 sisters, Pat A. Slifer of Romney, WV; Mary E. Hedrick (Foster) of Maysville, WV; 4 brothers, Clayton D. Rodgers, Sr. of Petersburg, WV; Robert W. Rodgers (Robin) of Baltimore, MD; Richard A. Rodgers of Petersburg, WV; Dawn G. Rodgers (Amanda) of Moorefield, WV; 2 grandchildren, Blake H. and Cooper B. Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Samuel H., Forrest G., Sr., and Douglas B. Rodgers, Sr.; 2 sisters, Laura J. Kemp, and Martha K. Alt.
