Dale Preston Benson

Dale Preston Benson, 71, husband of Patricia “Pat” (Bartley) Benson of Bartley Street, Staunton passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Benson was born on March 13, 1953 in Middlebrook, Virginia a son of the late Herman Willie and Helen Virginia (Fox) Benson. 
Dale was employed as a truck driver for Staunton Building Supply and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mushroom and asparagus hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather (Benson) Berry; two grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Orndorff and Juilianna Fayth; two brothers, Willie Franklin Benson and Bobby Herman Benson; and two sisters, Dolly Virginia (Benson) Clark and Stella Lou (Benson) Clark.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years is a son, Justin Benson (Kristen) of Staunton; a daughter, Brittany Sears and her husband, Armand (Doc) of Staunton; a brother, Tony Benson of Verona; a sister, Sandra Fitzgerald of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Berry (Wendy), Jeremiah Floyd (Brianna), Jarrett Floyd (Ashley), Jozilyn Floyd, Gabby Sears (Bobby), Jayden Vorgert, Daley Sears, Gracelyn Sears, and Faythlyn Sears; four great-grandchildren, Weston Floyd, Layla Floyd, Braelyn Floyd, and Brynleigh Fravel; and his fur buddy, “Roxie” his pet dog.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Strickler.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Benson, Armand “Doc” Sears, Jonathan Berry, Daley Sears, Jeremiah Floyd, Dustin Maddox, and Christian Berg.  
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
