Charles "Hip" Ronald Stearn
Charles "Hip" Ronald Stearn, 78, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
He was born on January 5, 1947 and was a son of the late Richard Charles Moyers and Alice Katherine "Kat" Hensley Stearn.
Charles worked as a truck driver. He had worked at Black Brothers Painting for 35 years and was a master carpenter. Hip was an avid fisherman, fast pitch softball player, and loved spending time with his family and friends at Lake Anna.
Charles was united in marriage to Ruth Irene (Ritchie) Stearn who survives.
Charles is survived by children, Denise Spitler, Charles (Sherry) Braithwaite, Melissa Faye (Sherrie) Holman, Ronald Lee Stearn, Jeffery (Jeri) Stearn, of Harrisonburg Robert "Biggun" (Nancye) Vernon, Rodney (Kim) Guyer; grandchildren, Ashley Ritchie, Heather (Jonathon) Kelly, Tabitha (Ryan) Crider, Skyla Stearn, Zach (Emily) Feaster, Lauren (Jake) Shockey, Hunter Stearn, Lindsey (Jarrett) Price, Mason (Robyn) Guyer, Clay "Bucket" (Kaylee) Guyer, Charles Stearn, Thomas Ronald Stearn, Alice Stearn; Eleven great-grandchildren; siblings: Lee (Deb) Stearn, Joyce Knicely, Judy (Larry) Dove; grand-dog, Dozer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great-grandchild, Hudson Michael Crider.
A service celebrating Hip's life will be held on December 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Victory Fellowship Church with Sonny Henkel officiating.
The family will receive friends one our prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clover Hill Fire & Rescue Squad, 2100 Clover Hill Road, Dayton, VA 22821.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater, Virginia.
