Charles Eugene Truxell

January 12, 1946 - February 27, 2026

Charles Eugene Truxell, 80, widower of Priscilla Jane (Cook) Truxell of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Truxell was born on January 12, 1946 in Waynesboro, Virginia, a son of the late Frank Victor Truxell and Alva Lee (Chaplin) Truxell
Charles was a member of Old Providence ARP Church, and retired from Nature Camp as a residential care taker. He was a member of the Staunton Augusta Radio Control Club (S.A.R.C.C.), he enjoyed building and flying radio control airplanes, aviation, fishing, hunting, boating, and the outdoors.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert W. Truxell, Harold D. Truxell, and Victor L. Truxell; and a sister, JoAnn (Truxell) Fitzgerald.
Surviving is a son, Jeffrey S. Truxell of Waynesboro; a daughter, Greta Kay Truxell of Fort Myers, Florida; four grandchildren, James Truxell and his wife Halei, Lucas Moffett and his wife Lindsay, Tristan Moffett and his fiancé Destiny Henshaw, and Sawyer Moffett; five great-grandchildren, Clint Lowry, Dylan Truxell, Brantley Moffett, Mattis Moffett and Jason Walker Truxell; special friends, Ventry Smith and Gary VanFossen and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Old Providence ARP Church Cemetery by Pastor Patrick Malphrus.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
