Charles "Chuck" Balsamo

August 29, 1950 - March 5, 2026

Charles “Chuck” Balsamo, Sr., 76, widower of Barbara Lynn “Bobbie” (Dobzeniecki) Balsamo, of Waynesboro, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at River Edge Rehab and Nursing in Waynesboro. 
Mr. Balsamo was born Manhattan, New York on August 29, 1950, a son of the late Benny Balsamo and Catherine (Toscano) Balsamo. 
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Army before going on to retire from Virginia Panel after many years of service. Alongside his wife, he was the former owner and operator of Walnut Hills Campground. He enjoyed spending time fishing, took great pride in capturing the beauty of nature through photography, and had a passion for racing.
Surviving, is his significant other, Dale Hawkins; two sons, Chuck Balsamo, Jr. and his wife, Emily and Jason Balsamo and his fiancé, Angie Lawson; a brother, Joe Balsamo and his wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Coree Balsamo and his wife, Esther, Amber Balsamo Creighton and her husband, Sean, Heaven Balsamo Moore and her husband, Cole, Lauren Balsamo and her fiancé, Nathaniel Neal, and Sam Balsamo and his fiancé, Destiny Martin; great-grandchildren, Landon, Emberly, Finley and Evelyn Moore, and Bodi and Madison Creighton; a special niece, Helen Reese and her husband Freddy and their children, Lacy Townsend and her husband, Zack and Jacob Reese and his fiancé, Kylie. 
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by his son, Pastor Chuck Balsamo. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
