Cathy Anita (Poole) Bartley

Cathy Anita (Poole) Bartley, 70, wife of James Edward “Eddie” Bartley of Butter Road in Middlebrook, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at her residence.
     Mrs. Bartley was born on June 2, 1954 in Staunton, a daughter of James Wallace Poole and Violet Juanita (Moore) Poole.
     Mrs. Bartley was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served as the church secretary for more than thirty years. Cathy was very active with the Riverheads W.R.E. program and was a member of I.H.C. of Virginia. In her youth, Cathy would participate in showing horses and later as an adult helped to organized many of the local horseshows. She enjoyed attending Farm Toy Shows, NASCAR, P.B.R., and tractor pulls.
     Mrs. Bartley was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Bartley. 
     In addition to her parents of Brownsburg, and her husband of fifty-one years, Mrs. Bartley is survived by a daughter, Heather M. Bartley of Middlebrook; a sister Tami Bird and her husband Paul III of Raphine; a brother-in-law, George Bartley and his wife Tina; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many special friends; and her special furry friend “Ms. Kitty”. 
     The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and the residence at other times.
      A Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024 in the Redeemer Lutheran Church by Pastor Lance Braun and Pastor Derek Almarode.
     Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
     Active pallbearers will be Ryan Sensabaugh, Luke Jennings, Hunter Bartley, Paul Bird IV, Glenn Sensabaugh and Shawn Swisher.
     Honorary pallbearers will be Kathy Swisher, Marsha Sensabaugh, Cody Harris, Barry Sensabaugh and Germel Chisholm.
     It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Riverheads W.R.E., P.O. Box 352, Greenville, VA  24440.
     Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
