Carolyn Elaine Pullin
Carolyn Elaine Pullin, 76, wife of Gilbert “Gib” Pullin of Churchville, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Brookdale Senior Living in Staunton.
Mrs. Pullin was born in Staunton on April 23, 1949, a daughter of the late William Albert and Lydia Frances (Crummett) Simmons
Carolyn attended Joyful Sound Church and the Lighthouse Church. She was a charter member of the Western Augusta Steam and Gas Tractor Club and was a bus driver for the Augusta County Public Schools for twenty-three years. Carolyn delighted in spending time with her family, tending her garden, and cooking and baking for those she loved. Her home was always full of food, laughter, and warmth - no one ever left hungry. Carolyn was known for a sharp wit, a playful sense of humor, and a talent for teasing that somehow made everyone feel included rather than offended. Sassy by nature and confident in spirit, she brought laughter into every room and had a way of making even ordinary moments memorable. Beneath the jokes was a generous heart, a loyal friend, and was deeply loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Myrtle Simmons, Dorothy Hutchens, Elizabeth Simmons, Catherine Sandy, Jake Simmons, Joe Simmons, Lee Green, and Darrell Simmons.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 57 years are her children, Tina Pitzer and her husband, Dale of Verona, Berry Pullin and his wife, Angie of Verona, Terry Pullin and his wife, Lori of Waynesboro, and Jamie Arsenault and her husband, Brian of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Alexis Pullin, Tyler Pullin and his wife, Casey, Leyton and Chase Pullin, Kassidy Boeckmann and her husband, Dylan, and Donovan Arsenault and his wife, Odalys; great-grandchildren, Piper and Valerie Boeckmann, Jupiter Arsenault, and Hudson Pullin; a brother, Larry Dean Simmons; a sister, Charlotte McCray; and many nieces and nephews.
